RODOLFO MONDOLFO INTERPRETER OF FIORENTINO’S
VICO . This paper focuses on the attention devoted by Rodolfo Mondolfo
to the works of Fiorentino on Vico. Beginning from the Lettere sovra la
Scienza Nuova (1865), he gets a speculative profile of his Author, but
philologically suitable to consider the intense and gradual thought in
different phases that are to the origin of the recovery of the temporal
dimension of the philosophy for its constitutive relationship with the
totality of the cultural phenomenons in the epoch of reference ( Problemi
e metodi di ricerca nella Storia della Filosofia, 1952). Mondolfo gives a
reading in which the scholar of the positivism ( Da Ardigò a Gramsci,
1962) and the materialism (La filosofia del Feuerbach e le critiche del
Marx, 1909), non forgetful of the idealistic lesson, analyzes the practical
activity ( Il «verum-factum» prima di Vico, 1969) of the living subject in
the social world, in his constitutive to report it to the reality of the
institutions.
